Anadolu Efes proved - as expected - too strong for Panathinaikos. The Greens got beaten last week 85-65 at Istanbul. They couldn't control Vasilije Micic, as the Serbian guard led his team with 21 points and 7 assists. Even though Panathinaikos had already been eliminated from the postseason they fought at Efes' hoe, especially in the first half. Mario Hezonja led the scorers for his team with 14 points and Zach Auguste and Dinos Mitoglou followed him adding 10 points each.

If Panathinaikos wants to win they must limit Henry’s ability to control the tempo of the game. They have to start with that. in addition, the Greens need to dominate the battle on the paint. Dinos Mitoglou and Georgios Papagiannis will have to come through that. The hosts are the worst long-range shooting team in the competition, making only 34.6% of three-point so they will need as many second chances as they can get. And of course, Ioannis Papapetrou and Mario Hezonja must try to do as much damage as they can.

Baskonia's game against Olympia Milano was a must-win if they needed to keep their playoff hopes alive. And they did win 86-69 at Buesa Arena last Friday. Pierria Henry was once again the key man for the winners offering his team 19 points. Henry dominated the game after the break, getting help from Giedraitis and Polonara to boost the hosts' lead to 60-45 after 30 minutes. Baskonia made it a 20-point game, 76-56, and never looked back. Achille Polonara was also on fire adding 17 points and 13 rebounds. Zoran Dragic scored 15 points and Rokas Giedraitis added another 14 points for the hosts.

Basconia is in great form recently and they run a winning streak, so no need to change that winning formula, solid defense, and a potent offense in all departments. The Basques are happy to see Achille Polonara step forward as one of the competition’s elite performers with a PIR in double figures for the last eight consecutive games. He expected to lead them tonight against the Greens.  Alec Peters and Rokas Giedraitis, are also expected to spear a lot Panathinaikos' defense from behind the arc.

The clash against Panathinaikos has great significance for Baskonia, as they want the win to continue in the post-season. So they will depend on their defense. Henry was simply amazing when those two teams met at first-round with a career-high 12 assists. Howard Sant-Roos will be the one that will try to stop him for the hosts. He is considered one of the best defenders in the competition and has become Panathinaikos’ key backcourt figure during the absence of Nemanja Nedovic. His battle with Henry will be something to watch tonight.
