Liverpool v Porto Betting Odds: UEFA Champions League Match Review and Latest News

This week signals the return of Champions League football and after the Last 16 first-legs, some teams have all but confirmed their places in the quarter-final. One of those is Liverpool, who smashed Porto in the first-leg by five goals to nil.

In the second-leg at Anfield, they would have to massively collapse to allow the Portuguese giants passage into the next round. The Reds will be able to play with no worries of crashing out.

With Liverpool’s place in the quarters being pretty much secured, the odds of them to qualify are extremely low. They are 1/2000 with bet365 (18+,T&C Apply) to qualify while Porto are just 100/1, despite needing to overturn the five-goal deficit. Jurgen Klopp’s side are 11/20 to win on the night which might not be worth a bet as they may field a weakened team with the tie being secure.

With both sides being very focused on attacking and scoring goals, a price of 13/20 for there to be more than 2.5 goals is very tempting. If they want any chance of progressing, Porto must attack and get some early goals. Their first-choice striker, Vincent Aboubakar, is 2/1 to score anytime which is a great price if he is facing a second-string Liverpool defense.

The hosts are currently on a roll after going second in the Premier League on Saturday evening and will be chomping at the bit to score more goals on Tuesday night. Only Nathaniel Clyne and Gini Wijnaldum will miss the clash.

It will be a tough night for the visitors with the aggregate score being against them. They will be confident after beating Sporting Lisbon on Friday night which put them five points clear at the top of the Liga NOS.

MATCH PREDICTION

Liverpool is undoubtedly going to qualify on Tuesday and I fancy them to win the second-leg comfortably, especially if they put out a full-strength team. It will be interesting to see Klopp’s selections but in the form they are in, Porto’s makeshift defense should be no match for Mohamed Salah and co.
